Program to reduce GHG emissions
We will be measuring, tracking, and progressively reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. We will prepare a comprehensive program to enable us to reduce greenhouse gases emissions to actively support our holding company PPF TG set an SBTi target within the next 12 months.
We will invest in energy efficiency equipment such as technology modernization, power supply, and cooling.
Increasing share of renewable energy
We aim to power our business with energy from renewable resources in every country where we operate and continuously increase the share of renewable energy in our total consumption.
Supporting circular economy
We will increase the quantity of reused, resold, or recycled the Group’s network equipment and other network waste. We will engage with key suppliers and introduce packaging, waste management, and circularity criteria into the Group’s contracts. We will encourage our colleagues to behave responsibly and support the Group’s efforts to reduce its environmental footprint.
Program to reduce GHG emissions
Our holding company PPF Telecom Group has publicly committed to set near-term company-wide emission reductions in line with climate science with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and we are taking a key role in this commitment. We have introduced a robust stream focussed on energy efficiencies across all our operations.
Increasing share of renewable energy
The Group purchases renewable energy certificates covering 100% of energy consumption in Serbia. CETIN Bulgaria concluded a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Electrohold, Bulgaria’s leading renewable energy trader. Renewable energy will rise to approximately 25% of the Group’s total energy consumption by 2024.
Supporting circular economy
CETIN CZ participates in the EKO-KOM collective system, established for joint compliance with the regulations of collection and use of packaging waste receiving awards for contributions to improving the environment and reducing the „carbon footprint“. CETIN CZ cooperates with the not-for-profit company REMA, which provides a complex waste solution, such as the collection, take-back, and processing of electrical equipment in Czechia. Employees actively participate in the primary selection of waste at the workplace while we continue educating and motivating them to engage in the field of recycling and nature conservation.
